Voz de Mando emerged as a regional Mexican outfit rooted in Los Angeles, California, when the 2010 corrido “Comandos del M.P. (500 Balazos)” propelled the group into mainstream visibility. Formed in 2009 by musicians originally from Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico, the ensemble established its operations in Huntington Park within Los Angeles County. Its lineup comprises siblings Jorge Gaxiola on accordion and vocals alongside Miguel Gaxiola on bajo sexto and vocals, together with Domingo Bolaños, known as “El Mingo,” handling tuba duties and Carlos Sígala, billed as “Charly,” on drums.

The act first drew attention through two independently issued projects, Levantando la Voz and 12 Impactos de Alto Calibre, both arriving in 2009. After inking a deal with Disa Records, Voz de Mando unveiled its major-label bow, Con la Nueva Federacion, in 2010. Miguel Gaxiola penned several tracks on the set, including the lead single “Comandos del M.P. (500 Balazos),” which climbed into the Top Ten of the Billboard Regional Mexican Songs chart. Subsequent road work carried the group across Mexico, Latin America, and the United States.

Ahead of the next project, the ensemble issued the pointed pre-release track “Soldado Latinoamericano,” whose lyrics addressed Donald Trump directly, before delivering the full-length Clase de Historia the following March. Twelve months later came the album El Que a Ti Te Gusta.
