Florida rapper LPB Poody channels high-energy bravado into verses drawn from raw personal episodes, repeated legal issues, and the deaths of close companions. His path in rap expanded amid ongoing personal chaos, including the 2019 release of Solitary Konfinement just before he sustained gunshot wounds.

Born Robert Lee Perry, Jr. in Orlando in 1999, he first explored music by studying DJ techniques before shifting focus to rapping and appearing onstage as Poody while still in his early teens. In 2018 he appended LPB—short for Light Pole Baby—to his stage name and started sharing tracks digitally, seeking a constructive outlet after several arrests. Songs such as “Fresh Out da Dentist” opened doors to joint work with Hotboii, Rod Wave, and 9lokknine, while his 2018 mixtape Streetz Callin’ further established his presence. The following year he issued Solitary Konfinement.

In April 2020 Poody survived a shooting that claimed the life of his friend, high school football player Dexter Rentz, Jr. Soon afterward he dropped the single “Address It,” which quickly became his biggest release to date and accumulated millions of streams in a matter of weeks.
