Biography
Mouth of the South hails from Arlington, Texas, where vocalist Josiah Lyle joins guitarists Tanner Allen and Mike Butler, bassist Colton Bartholet, and drummer Garrett Metzger to create scorching metalcore infused with spiritual themes. The ensemble came together in 2007, during which time they put forth multiple self-released records amid frequent member turnover until establishing their primary configuration. They secured a contract in 2013 with Facedown Records, which serves as a base for comparable groups like War of Ages, For Today, Hope for the Dying, Gideon, and Colossus, and put out their inaugural album on that label, Struggle Well, the following year.
