Biography
Nave Monjo, working across rap, vocals, and production, achieved his breakthrough success with the track “Royal Blue.” The song’s title aligned naturally with the Kansas City artist’s desire to celebrate both his hometown and its baseball club. Its Auto-Tuned, trap-styled sound turned into an informal rallying cry for the franchise once the team captured the 2015 World Series title. Monjo’s childhood passion for rap led him to refine his abilities until he joined T-Pain’s touring lineup in 2014. Although he issued several singles throughout 2015, among them “Don’t Be Shy” and “L.T.B.D.,” it was the 2016 arrival of “Royal Blue” that drew widespread national notice to the emerging artist. He followed that momentum by unveiling the full-length project Monjo Land in 2017.
