Biography
Piero Esteriore came into the world on September 23, 1977, in Laufen, Switzerland. Performance had already become part of his life during early childhood, and he later gained recognition as a percussionist and vocalist. While still young he mastered several instruments and continued his training in Basle, Switzerland, adding further percussion skills. During those years he also competed in multiple singer/songwriter events across the border in Italy, presenting his own material. His debut release, Passa Il Tempo, reached stores in 1995. A decisive advance arrived in 2004 when he appeared on the television talent program Music Star; finishing among the finalists expanded his reach, yet an even greater stage followed when he represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest that same year. Numerous singles have since appeared on the charts. In 2007 the live album Io Vivo climbed into the Swiss top forty.
