Emerging with considerable promise within New York’s hip-hop scene, the Queens native Trav steadily constructed his path throughout the 2010s by collaborating with figures such as Meek Mill, Young Thug, and Travis Scott. His initial momentum came via a series of mixtapes, among them the Whoo Kid-presented Follow Me, prior to unveiling his first full-length effort, QRAK, during 2017.

Hailing from Jamaica, Queens, Trav first gained notice behind the microphone at the age of sixteen, drawing interest from area disc jockeys like DJ Green Lantern and DJ Whoo Kid. A string of early tracks featuring “O.M.G.” preceded his introductory mixtape The Way I See, which arrived in 2009. The remix of “Finding a Way,” which included Lloyd Banks alongside Juelz Santana, brought notable recognition and paved the way for his next release, the Whoo Kid-hosted Follow Me. Characterized by confident delivery and urban stories, his initial output blended influences from the Diplomats crew with the rising trap aesthetic.

In the middle portion of the decade, Trav issued material at irregular intervals, presenting the Datpiff-only Push as his third mixtape in 2012, followed by Push 2 in 2014 and Push 3 in 2016. These projects further elevated his standing through additional appearances by Meek Mill, Travis Scott, and Juelz Santana. Concurrently, he forged a solid partnership with Sean Kingston that led to a support role alongside the singer on Justin Bieber’s My World tour.

Transitioning from extensive mixtape activity, Trav entered 2017 by launching QRAK—short for “Queens Raised a King”—his inaugural album. Contributions from Tory Lanez, Meek Mill, and Lil Durk helped populate a record that explored diverse tones and textures aligned with the Atlanta-centric trap prevalent in the mid-2010s. Capitalizing on this foundation, he accelerated his output in the latter years of the decade through multiple collaborations with artists including French Montana, NAV, and Young Thug. Several of these tracks appeared on his sixth mixtape, Nothing Happens Overnight, released in 2020, which yielded major successes such as “Geed U,” “Pradaaa Shoes,” and “You Choose.”
