Ultrabeat

School friends Mike di Scala, Chris Henry, and Ian Redman formed the Liverpool-based dance music group Ultrabeat. After submitting a demo of “Pretty Green Eyes” to All Around the World in 2003, they landed a recording contract; the label issued the single, which climbed to the number-two spot. Follow-up releases “Feelin’ Fine” and “Better Than Life” both reached the Top 25, yet the fourth single failed to match that impact, popularity slipped, and plans for a debut album were set aside. The 2007 track “Elysium (I Go Crazy)” revived their standing with the public, and vocalist Rebecca Rudd supplied fresh chart momentum that carried them to the September release of Ultrabeat: The Album, which entered the U.K. Top Ten.
