Biography
Uranio, a regional Mexican ensemble devoted to duranguense music, operates under the direction of José Manuel Ortega, the former lead vocalist of Grupo Montéz de Durango. Ortega, who was born in the Mexican state of Durango and later moved to the United States, launched the band in 2007. One year afterward, Uranio delivered its first full-length album, Dulce Veneno. Issued on the Machete Music imprint of Universal Latino, the release yielded the hit single "Dulce Veneno."
