Biography
Vivanativa, a five-piece rock ensemble from Puerto Rico, originated in 1997 when Javier Gómez—previously the singer and guitarist for Zyron and Maskin Tape—teamed with Nabeel Abdulrahman, once the guitarist for Ricky Martin. During that same year the group issued a self-titled album fusing Latin rock, funk, and jazz fusion; Viejo followed as their next release in 1999. The band strengthened its following with a performance at San Juan’s Roberto Clemente Coliseum on December 22, 2000.
