Biography
Exploring the shadowy depths of human emotion through weighty, riff-driven sounds reminiscent of Breaking Benjamin, Shinedown, Chevelle, and Three Days Grace, Los Angeles rock band Vyces assembled in 2014. Vocalist Dave Naruszewicz, formerly of Heart Set Self Destruct, contacted drummer Russell Ray, ex-Old Fashioned Beatdown, about launching a new venture, with the pair trading song ideas across their respective bases in Los Angeles and Chicago. Guitarist Shawn Patterson, also ex-Old Fashioned Beatdown, came aboard next, establishing the group’s original trio configuration. Bassist Mark James Klepaski, formerly of Breaking Benjamin, and vocalist/keyboardist Evan Seidlitz, ex-Thrown into Exile, completed the five-piece lineup. Drawing additional inspiration from David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Slipknot, and Pantera, the band issued its first singles, “The Hive” and “Devil,” in 2016; both cuts appeared on that year’s debut EP, Devils. “Nocturnal” followed in 2017 alongside touring alongside Never Say Die and Message from Sylvia, while the single “Thin Luck” arrived the next year.
