Emerging from Atlanta’s thriving musical ecosystem, Georgia-rooted artist 5AM, working as producer, vocalist, and rapper, brought a forward-looking vision to R&B and hip-hop through his partnership with TM88 on the atmospheric 2019 album 5:88.

Having started to make music in childhood, 5AM first concentrated on crafting beats until he revealed his individual vocal identity via the 2017 release “New Diddy.” After signing with Interscope, he forged a personal sound that merged hip-hop, trap, and R&B, prompting frequent comparisons to the Weeknd. A series of tracks preceded his 2019 collaboration with TM88, which produced the eight-song album 5:88. During 2020 he issued the singles “Nino,” “Automatic,” and the inventive “Pull Up,” closing the year with “Answer Me.”
