Biography
ACRAZE rocketed to instant fame when his homemade house remix of Cherish’s 2006 smash “Do It to It” electrified the EDM community during 2021. From that point forward, the producer focused on developing a distinct style by creating fresh material in the genre.
Charlie Duncker, who entered the world in Staten Island, New York, initially saw limited success in his early DJ pursuits before moving his base to Orlando, Florida. The pivotal moment arrived upon encountering a social media video set to “Do It to It,” the crunk’n’B number from the four-piece group Cherish that reached the U.S. Top 20 in 2006. A fortuitous phone malfunction during playback prompted him to craft personal versions of the song. Debuting the edit at a New Year’s Eve celebration marking the start of 2021 led to an outpouring of praise and opportunities; before the year concluded, he inked a deal with Thrive Music, distributed through Capitol, propelling the single onto international pop and dance rankings, among them a Top Ten showing in the U.K. DJ Snake hailed it as the track of the summer, while prominent figures such as Tiësto delivered their own remixes.
In the wake of “Do It to It,” ACRAZE maintained equilibrium between a consistent output of original dance cuts—such as “Believe” from 2022 along with “Take Me Away” and “The Otherside” in 2023—and reworkings of mainstream tracks including Sam Smith & Kim Petras' “Unholy,” all while delivering major performances at Ultra and Tomorrowland festivals plus an ongoing engagement at The Wynn in Las Vegas.
