Anne Wilson stands out as a Grammy-nominated and Dove Award-winning vocalist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist whose earthy style draws deeply from her Christian convictions and rural Kentucky roots. The 2021 release of her debut single “My Jesus” delivered an immediate Christian radio smash, while the full-length album carrying the same title arrived the following year and likewise dominated the format. On her 2024 sophomore effort Rebel she further fused country-pop accessibility with contemporary Christian music.

Born in Lexington, Kentucky, Wilson took up piano in childhood. Tragedy prompted her first public appearance when her older brother died at age 23 in an automobile crash; she performed Hillsong’s “What a Beautiful Name” at the service. A recording of that moment spread online and quickly attracted label interest, prompting her to sign a recording contract. Drawing guidance from country legends Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash as well as CCM figures such as Steffany Gretzinger and Lauren Daigle, she issued “My Jesus” in early 2021 and followed it with the concert EP My Jesus (Live in Nashville). Tracks including “God Thing” and “Sunday Sermons” preceded the April 2022 arrival of her debut album My Jesus. That country-infused Christian project earned a Grammy nomination, reached the summit of Billboard’s Christian Albums chart, and climbed to number 68 on the Billboard 200. It also included a collaboration with Hillary Scott titled “Mamas” and a rendition of the title track featuring Crowder. Later in 2022 Wilson issued the seasonal EP The Manger, then in 2023 unveiled several country-leaning singles—“Seventh of June,” “The Rebel,” and “Rain in the Rearview”—that accelerated her crossover momentum. The final pair of those songs anchored her second studio album, Rebel, which surfaced in April 2024 and showcased appearances by Lainey Wilson, Chris Tomlin, and Jordan Davis.
