Arsenal Efectivo delivers straight-ahead, hardcore, modern narcocorridos and shares credit with Legado 7 as originators of the “Corridos Verde” movement. The core unit of two guitars and bass, fleshed out by brass, reeds, and percussion, produces music whose energy and live delivery remain raw and direct. While the group’s lyrics examine the daily realities of gangster and narco life in keeping with genre norms, the distinctive filter remains a U.S./California perspective that has drawn a vast digital-streaming following and prompted the band to label its sound “trap corridos.” Issued on Rancho Humilde in November 2017, the debut album En La Fuga reached number 12 on the Regional Mexican albums chart, and the accompanying videos have accumulated hundreds of thousands of YouTube views.
