Black Caviar, a New York City electronic dance duo, craft infectious house tracks built around powerful drops and memorable hooks. Their 2017 streaming breakthrough arrived with “Coco,” after which they reached a larger audience by contributing “What’s Up Danger” to the gold-certified, Grammy-nominated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack. In 2019 another cinematic project followed when the pair reworked the Charlie’s Angels theme for that year’s reboot. Following several 2022 EPs, Troy Hinson and Jared Piccone joined Domenico and Rion S to form the dance supergroup Prince Street Bodega.

The two members first connected inside a Pennsylvania bowling alley, where they discussed their earlier attempts to enter the music industry through hardcore, metal, and hip-hop. After relocating to New York City they tried again and finally found traction. Under the Black Caviar name they released their debut single “Lady (Hear Me Tonight)” in 2015, then followed it with “Touch It.” The 2016 output included “Good Lovin’,” the progressive house cut “You Ain’t Gotta Bounce to This (Lean),” a cover of Folk Implosion’s “Natural One,” the Justina Valentine collaboration “Tu Se Animale,” and the Kool Keith track “New York, What’s Happenin’?” They also supplied remixes for Marian Hill’s “Down” and Big Shaq’s “Man’s Not Hot.” In 2017 the u.n.i.-featuring “Coco” became a viral streaming success, leading to their placement on the 2018 Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack alongside Blackway; the album earned gold certification and a 2019 Grammy nomination. That same year Black Caviar issued the singles “Killa Shit Funk” featuring G.L.A.M. and “Do You Like It When I’m Freaky?” and added another soundtrack entry by reinterpreting the Charlie’s Angels theme.

The short EP Caviar Chronicles, Vol. 1 appeared in 2020. Further joint work included a second pairing with Blackway on “Do the Damn Thing.” In 2021 they dropped the singles “Own My Own Masters” and “Been That Ill,” both taken from the EP Rivington & Ludlow. Their next major endeavor united them with Domenico and Rion S under the Prince Street Bodega moniker; the quartet’s debut single, the disco-house track “Contagious,” surfaced in late 2022, followed by the funk-infused “Shake It Out” in early 2023.
