Biography
Originating from Puerto Rico, Brray has established himself as a versatile vocalist, lyricist, and MC whose output blends hip-hop, reggaeton, trap, and cumbia, frequently anchored by Latin pop refrains. His distinctive reedy baritone glides over intricate percussion patterns as he spontaneously crafts melodies and refrains during recording sessions. Following his entry onto streaming charts via the 2015 track “Traficando,” he has put out more than 125 singles and joint releases, with accompanying videos accumulating tens of millions of streams. His first full-length project, Abundancia, arrived in 2016 and featured appearances by Joyce Santana and Darell. That same year he composed the hit “Pa ’Que le De” for Bad Bunny. In 2017 he joined the remix of Santana’s number-one single “Así.” During 2021 he contributed to Nio Garcia’s sessions for both “La Jeepeta” and the version that later charted. After signing with Universal Music he delivered several charting cuts such as “Te Pue’ Cuidar.” His first album for the label, Err Bambini, contained 24 tracks crafted with 28 producers and 20 featured artists including Santana, Rauw Alejandro, Nicky Jam, Rafa Pabön, Zion, and Darell. His third album, El Alma De La Fiesta, surfaced in late 2024 and contained the collaborative hit “Corazon Roto, Pt. 3.”
Born Bryan García Quinones in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Brray maintained a strong passion for music yet channeled most of his early efforts into baseball. With family support he joined numerous travel squads and aimed for the minor leagues after graduation, only for a serious injury at age 17 to end those ambitions. He redirected his attention toward music, initially aiming to work as a songwriter instead of an artist.
He immersed himself in studying recordings by established performers and beat-makers, completing his earliest compositions in 2012. A chance encounter in 2013 introduced him to producer Young Martino, who worked with Joyce Santana; Martino recognized his promise and offered guidance. At 21 Brray issued the Martino-produced tracks “No Sé Si Sabias” and “Me Siento Bien” with Santana, both of which garnered favorable responses. Additional online releases the following year further expanded his audience. His debut album, Abundancia, produced by Martino, reached stores in October 2016 and achieved regional success. That summer he also wrote the hit “Pa ’Que le De” for Bad Bunny and appeared on the recording.
The breakthrough intensified his drive, prompting an intensified schedule of writing and studio work. He followed with the singles “Quién Es Brray?” and “Mood,” joined Santana on “Tu Break,” “En El Amor no Creen,” and “Bajo Sustancias,” and took part in the star-studded remix of “Así.” Additional partnerships included Myke Towers, Nio Garcia, and Casper Magico on “Si la Saco.” Alongside numerous guest spots he released “Tira y Jala,” “Sigo Esperando,” “Ponte Pa’ Mí,” “No Eres Tú, Soy Yo,” and “Como Lo Menea” throughout 2018.
His presence grew even more pronounced in 2019. Beyond issuing “Sheesh” (and its remix) and “Préndelo” with Juanka, he appeared on Izaak’s “Hey Shorty 2,” Green Cookie’s “Pitcher,” and Paulino Rey’s “Machoqueo,” among other tracks. Early in 2020, “La Jeepeta” by Garcia, Brray, and Juanka entered circulation; its video amassed 43 million views within months while the song topped Latin streaming charts and became a cultural staple. Further singles such as “Medusa” and “Empeliculiao y Teddy” (ft. Eladio Carrión) performed strongly, as did “Only Fans,” “Traficando,” and “Frio.” The “La Jeepeta” remix featuring Anuel AA and Myke Towers reached number one in over a dozen territories by year’s end and earned Brray a Premio Lo Nuestra award.
Early 2021 brought his Universal Music contract and the ska-hip-hop hybrid “Pamela” with Chimbala and KITTAH, followed by the electro-urbano trap cut “Sin Menta.” He and Juanka also joined Karol G on “Arranca Pal Carajo.” Additional 2021 releases included “Jeringonza” and “Domingo de Bote” with Rafa Pabön, plus an appearance with Lyanno on Santana’s “El Leash.” That November he unveiled the expansive Err Bambini, whose 24 tracks featured more than 20 guests including Santana, De la Ghetto, Rey, Nengo Flow, and Rauw Alejandro, along with 28 producers headed by Martino.
After the album’s launch Brray resumed his steady output of singles and features, issuing half a dozen tracks in 2022 that encompassed remixes of “De Una” and “Nivel Dios.” He took part in more than 18 single releases during 2023, seven under his own name, and charted with “Paralelos” (feat. Polima Westcoast and Pailita) plus the hit “Corazon Roto, Pt. 3” alongside Anuel AA, Chencho Corleone, Jayco, and Ryan Castro, which surpassed 200 million streams. He opened 2024 with the charting “Mis Amigas,” then teamed with Feid on “Te Colaboro.” “Double Team,” recorded with Anitta and Bad Gyal, also performed strongly and helped build anticipation for El Alma De La Fiesta. The 19-track project, released at the close of 2024, incorporated earlier successes such as “Corazon Roto, Pt. 3” and “Te Colaboro.”
