Burak Yeter, a producer, DJ, and remixer of Turkish descent now based in the Netherlands, crafts energetic, feel-good club tracks that fuse progressive house with Turkish and Western strains of dance-pop and hip-hop while addressing pressing social themes. Born in Amsterdam in 1982, he started learning piano and guitar during childhood, launched the hip-hop collective Tatbikat in 1999, and pursued civil-engineering studies at Akdeniz University in Turkey. After sharpening his turntable technique, he captured first place in an MTV Dance-sponsored DJ competition in 2004, began reworking material by Turkish pop and dance acts, and issued his first full-length project, For Action, Vol. 1, the following year. For Message, Vol. 2 appeared in 2007, its lyrics focused on raising awareness of global warming.

He relocated to London to enroll at SAE Institute, where he completed a master’s degree in sound engineering. In 2008 Pioneer certified him as a DJ instructor, prompting him to found teaching facilities in Amsterdam, Istanbul, and Los Angeles. The next year he launched Connection Records and released the double-CD set also titled Connection. At the 2010 Kral TV Music Awards he earned Best Remix honors for his version of Ajda Pekkan’s “Oyalama Beni” as well as the Best Newcomer trophy, and he also put out the album Maschine. In 2012 he joined G-Unit rapper Hot Rod for the single “Mr. International,” shot his debut music video for the track, delivered the album Blue, and again took home the Kral TV Best Remix award for another Pekkan rework, “Arada Sırada.”

From his Amsterdam base he continued issuing singles such as 2013’s “Storm,” 2014’s “Speed of Light” featuring Dawn Richard, and 2015’s “Kingdom Falls.” After the early-2016 release of “Reckless” with Delaney Jane, he joined Spinnin’ Records and began issuing material under the New World banner. His cover of iLoveMakonnen’s “Tuesday,” featuring vocalist Danelle Sandoval, became an international success, reaching charts in more than twenty countries and earning platinum certification in Austria, France, Germany, and Switzerland. He subsequently explored tropical house on the single “Go.”
