Death Of An Era

Columbus, Ohio serves as the home base for the metalcore group Death of an Era, whose sound merges technical elements with traditional riffing that emphasizes breakdowns alongside electronic touches and a cinematic approach to post-hardcore, earning parallels to Whitechapel, Sworn In, and Bring Me the Horizon. The ensemble came together in 2009 when vocalist Daniel Simpson, drummer Michael Cooper, bass player Chris Cooper, and guitarists Nathan Stewart and Dustin Colling—each still teenagers—launched the project. Their initial EP, Great Commonwealth, came out in 2013 through Artery Recordings/Razor & Tie, followed by the band's debut full-length album, Black Bagged, the next year.
