Biography
Originating from Grayslake, Illinois, the American metalcore band Sworn In assembled in 2011 with vocalist Tyler Dennen joined by guitarists Zakary Gibson and Eugene Kamlyuk, bassist Derek "Slim" Bolman, and drummer Chris George. Their approach fused mathcore, thrash, and angst-metal into a blistering, relentlessly nihilistic style that prompted a swift deal with Razor & Tie and the 2013 arrival of debut album Death Card. The release entered the Billboard Top 200, after which the group maintained a full year of performances across the United States and abroad. "Sunshine" emerged in February 2015 as the lead single for the upcoming sophomore effort, which reached stores as The Lovers/The Devil in April. Subsequent support tours alongside the Plot in You, I Declare War, and Gift Giver, plus a performance at the final Mayhem Festival, preceded an early 2017 move to Fearless Records, where All Smiles appeared as their first album for the imprint that summer.
