DENM, the Santa Barbara, California-based bedroom electronic musician, crafts relaxed pop tracks that weave together pop, dance, and reggae elements. Attention first arrived via the 2016 single “Lit” together with the Dreamhouse EP.

Before stepping onto an international platform with the late-2016 release of “Lit,” DENM had performed in multiple indie rock groups. The infectious song merged buoyant Italo house beats, thick EDM low end, hazy chillwave keyboards, and hazy, elevated vocal lines. Sporting green hair, guyliner, and a gritty visual style, the multi-instrumentalist projected the image of a ’90s offspring. He kept his legal name private, so public knowledge remained limited to his background as a seasoned session player, songwriter, and producer who had collaborated and traveled with numerous pop and rock acts. Dreamhouse, his debut EP, arrived shortly afterward and continued in a similar vein, drawing media notice once the track “Green” appeared in an Uber advertisement. A remix collection surfaced in early 2017, while joint efforts with Gnash on “Belong” and Tommy Trash on “Dreamer” preceded the September single “Bless Your Heart.” DENM later teamed with production duo Rock Mafia on the 2019 EP Endless Summer.
