Elephante

Tim Wu records and performs as Elephante. Operating out of Los Angeles, the EDM DJ and producer specializes in expansive progressive house anthems while also supplying reworkings for acts that span Clean Bandit to Lorde. Most of his material leans toward vocal dance tracks shaped by pop, yet he sometimes turns to slower pieces touched by trap. Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1989, Wu started music early, completing classical piano studies before instructing himself on guitar. He earned a Harvard University degree in 2011, first attempting a music career through acoustic singer-songwriter work before moving into electronic dance music. Remixes came first, followed by original productions, and an EP surfaced in 2013. Dozens of additional tracks and remixes have appeared since, including “I Want You” and “Age of Innocence,” each accumulating millions of streams. The debut album I Am the Elephante arrived in 2016. Early 2017 brought the collaborative single “Troubled,” recorded with singer Deb's Daughter.
