Biography

Born Edgardo Miranda on May 3, 1982, in Chiriquí, Panama, Joey Montana launched his career as a romantic-style reggaeton vocalist through membership in the pioneering group La Factoría, which also included Demphra and Joycee. He contributed to the collective’s releases La Factoría (2001), Más Allá (2004), and Nuevas Metas (2006) before pursuing solo work. His first full-length album, Sin Cadenas, appeared in 2007 on the independent imprint MMV Entertainment. The 2010 follow-up Flow con Clase represented his major-label bow via EMI. Único arrived in 2014, and his fourth studio effort, Picky Back to the Roots, surfaced in 2016 with the singles “Picky” and “Hola.”
