Jotaerre emerged as a vocalist and composer specializing in Latin urban sounds. Joaquin Rodriguez-Ema came into the world in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, during 2004, later adopting the stage name formed from the Spanish rendering of his initials. An early fascination with music surfaced during his initial teenage years, which ultimately drew notice from Fly Empire Music. The artist issued his first recording for the imprint in 2021 via the track “Complacerte,” at which point he had not yet reached his eighteenth birthday. Roughly twelve months afterward, wider recognition arrived through the release of “Un Viaje,” a collaboration that included Alejo and Moffa while prominently featuring Latin superstar Karol G. Jotaerre maintained momentum by issuing further singles across multiple urban genres such as trap, reggaeton, and dancehall, while working alongside an array of performers that encompassed Corina Smith, Chris Palace, Caleb Calloway, lil joujou, Lil Geniuz, Jovaan, RMAND, Aaron 21, Tivi Gunz, Moffa, Big Soto, and ECKO. Rimas Entertainment put out his debut full-length project, Luna Azul en Tokyo, in 2023, with Todo Está Bien appearing the following year.
