Biography
Brytiago, a Puerto Rican urbano singer and songwriter whose catalog includes numerous charting singles both as lead artist and featured performer, built a platinum-certified career blending reggaeton and trap elements. He first surfaced on Daddy Yankee’s Cartel label in 2016 and quickly became a fixture on those scenes. His smooth tenor and relaxed delivery sit atop trap’s sharp, fluid rhythms and layered production, creating a distinctive urbano edge heard on the nine-times-platinum “Asesina” with Darell and its quadruple-platinum remix featuring Daddy Yankee, Ozuna, and Anuel AA. Videos for tracks such as “Controla” (feat. Anuel AA) and “NETFLIXXX” (feat. Bad Bunny) have each accumulated hundreds of millions of views. His first full-length project, Orgánico, arrived in 2020 and registered on multiple charts, while the streaming-topping “Denudarte” with Jay Wheeler further expanded his reach; sophomore album Trap Vibes followed in 2023.
Born Bryan Cancel Santiago in Carolina, Puerto Rico, in 1992, Brytiago began as a lyricist, documenting personal experiences in rhyme long before he sang. At age eight he was photographed with Daddy Yankee, an encounter that would lead to a professional partnership fourteen years later. During his teenage years he honed singing, songwriting, and dance abilities by studying YouTube clips of favored artists. After a friend later reconnected him with Yankee, the veteran listened to his demos at Cartel’s studio, took his contact information, and promised a call that arrived several months afterward. Brytiago signed with the label in 2014. Two years of preparation preceded the release of thirteen singles in 2016, among them “Bebe” and “Punto G” (feat. Darell). Although early releases did not chart, “Me Ama Me Odia” eventually earned platinum status and social-media momentum drove strong video performance. That November he joined the Los Eleven collective for Wise the Gold Pen Presents: Trap Miami, which reached number six on the U.S. Latin Rhythm chart. The 2017 remix of “Bebe” featuring Daddy Yankee and Nicky Jam became his first solo charting entry, peaking inside Spain’s Top 100. Later the same year “Bipolar” (feat. Chris Jeday and Ozuna) entered the U.S. Top 20 at Hot Latin Songs. The multi-platinum “Asesina” (feat. Darell) climbed to number 17 on Hot Latin Songs in 2018. Guest spots also proved successful: a featured appearance on the “A Solas” remix by Lunay, Lyanno, and Anuel AA reached number nine, while Anuel AA appeared on Brytiago’s number-28 single “Controla” early in 2019. Additional featured turns that year included “Una Mujer” by DJ Nelson (with De La Ghetto and Darell) and “Verte Ir” by DJ Luian, Mambo Kingz, and Anuel AA (alongside Nicky Jam and Darell). Orgánico, issued in 2020, showcased guests including Wisin, Lunay, and Omi de Oro and appeared on several charts. Brytiago and Jay Wheeler released the non-album single and video “Desnudarte” at the start of 2024; it dominated streaming rankings and surpassed 150 million views. Throughout 2022 and 2023 he issued dozens of singles and collaborations, and Trap Vibes charted while yielding multiple hits. In April 2024 he reunited with Anuel AA for the streaming smash “Kilerito.”
