Born in Cali, Colombia, Juan David Loaiza Supúlveda records reggaeton as Kapo, shaping light, melodic tracks through his refined singing and emotionally charged words. The 2023 arrival of debut mixtape TU OG FAVORITO preceded his commercial breakthrough with the 2024 Top Ten single "Ohnana."

From Cali, the vocalist began creating and distributing reggaeton under the Kapo name, opening his catalog with the seductive 2019 track "Humo." His soft, airy tone and memorable hooks soon attracted La Industria Inc. executive Juan Diego Medina, who signed him promptly; the pair then focused on refining the artist's musical direction. Adopting the recurring tag "yo soy tu kapo baby," Kapo issued a string of melodic singles throughout 2021, among them the split-up anthem "Vuela" with Mati Gómez and the breezy Reykon collaboration "Mochilera," one of his earliest notable successes. Further traction arrived via the 2022 Nanpa Básico joint "Pelinegra," alongside additional team-ups with ROBI, Nath, and La Gabi.

April 2023 brought the mixtape TU OG FAVORITO; though positioned as his first full-length effort, the project largely compiled eight earlier singles plus two new recordings. Kapo's profile accelerated sharply toward the close of 2023, securing his first Colombian streaming-chart entry via a featured appearance on Esteban Rojas' "Bulevar." The pivotal 2024 release "Ohnana" followed, gathering over 20 million streams in its opening month, climbing to number nine on Billboard's Spain Songs chart and securing Top Ten placements on streaming rankings in Colombia and Panama.
