Biography
Ocean Drive emerged as a dance music ensemble in 2008 after French producers Nicolas Carel, an electronic pop expert, and Just Uman, rooted in dance music, crossed paths at a Miami, FL nightclub. The pair opted to team up on a studio endeavor, bringing aboard vocalist Gilles Luka, a former member of the group Luka, along with club DJ Oriska, recognized for her house and electro sets. They drew the project's name from a stylish thoroughfare in Miami's South Beach district. Their debut single, "Some People (Ton Desir)," climbed into the French Top Ten, while follow-ups "Without You (Perdue Sans Toi)" and "Because (Connecte-Toi)" also performed strongly on the charts. The group unveiled their debut album, With the Sunshine, in 2009, and followed it in 2010 with an English-language rendition of "Some People" that featured vocalist Aytar.
