Estonian-born electronic producer Henry Krinkle refined his contemporary house approach through extensive global travels, drawing inspiration from U.K. post-dubstep acts such as James Blake and Mount Kimbie. Before focusing on music, he spent time driving taxis in New York and teaching in Shanghai, where encounters with diverse cultures shaped his creative direction. In 2012 he started performing his tracks at Shanghai clubs, which led directly to the creation of his single “Stay.” After moving to L.A., he became a regular presence at Kitsuné and Black Butter events while also delivering numerous headlining shows. In 2013 he completed well-received tours across the U.S., Canada, and Europe, highlighted by an appearance at the L.A. festival Hard Day of the Dead and a slot on the U.K. bill of Rob da Bank’s Bestival. His rising profile earned him a performance at the 2014 edition of the Texas industry event SXSW, after which dance label Ultra signed him and issued the U.K. Top 40 single “Stay.”
