Biography
Gospel singer and worship leader Rich Tolbert, Jr. delivers an uplifting and ebullient sound that has defined his career. His breakthrough arrived via the debut single “Never Be Defeated,” issued in 2020.
Born in the Bronx, New York, Tolbert sang in church from childhood onward. By age ten he was already leading the congregation’s worship ensemble on a regular basis. In adulthood he broadened his ministry by serving as Executive Pastor at Brooklyn’s Love Fellowship Tabernacle under Bishop Hezekiah Walker, where he took charge of the Sunday praise & worship services. In addition to his live work, Tolbert cultivated a substantial social-media audience, which drew the notice of JJ Hairston and led to a signing with the JamesTown Music label. That same year Tolbert issued “Never Be Defeated,” a track that ascended to number one on the Billboard Gospel Digital Songs chart.
