Biography
Ryan Kinder sings, writes songs, and plays guitar, delivering heartfelt performances rooted in soulful country and pop. Born on August 1, 1988, in Knoxville, Tennessee, he grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, where baseball and hunting first captured his attention. Early exposure to artists such as John Mayer, Brad Paisley, Garth Brooks, and Marc Broussard sparked his interest; he mastered guitar on his own and soon began composing original material. While still attending high school, he started performing at venues throughout the local and regional circuit, later extending those appearances to clubs and fraternity parties after enrolling at the University of Alabama. His first independent release, the self-titled Ryan Kinder, came out in 2007.
After moving to Nashville, Kinder sharpened his craft through collaborations with established songwriters Jen Ketner and Luke Sheets. He then secured a contract with Bigger Picture Group and began recording with producers and engineers Keith Stegall, Ketner, and John Kelton. The single “Tonight” marked his debut in 2013, followed in early 2014 by the catchy and well-crafted “Kiss Me When I’m Down.” Two years afterward he issued the Deconstructed Studio Sessions EP, featuring a cover of Justin Bieber’s “Sorry.” Additional singles that earned strong notice included “Close” in 2016 and “Still Believe in Crazy Love” in 2017. Kinder returned in 2018 with the rock- and blues-inflected “Leap of Faith.”
