S-8ighty

Dave Welcome, Jr. operates under the stage name S-8ighty, voiced as “s-eighty” rather than “s-eight-ighty.” The New Orleans, Louisiana native works as a singer, songwriter, and producer whose sound leans toward pop-infused R&B. Momentum arrived when he supplied several tracks to Juvenile’s Cocky & Confident in 2009 and Beast Mode in 2010. Following self-released efforts that included the 2014 single “#Super,” he secured a contract with major-label Republic and introduced himself on the imprint with the 2015 release “Halfway.”
