Biography
In the winter of 2009, the group Sainthood Reps came together, delivering a somber blend of post-grunge, hard rock, and post-hardcore sounds. Long Island, New York natives Francesco Montesanto and Derrick Sherman, who had known each other since childhood, bonded over shared admiration for acts such as Mogwai, Fugazi, and Explosions in the Sky. Montesanto's demo recordings, drawing from those influences, prompted Sherman to participate, and soon Bradley Cordaro along with Jani Zubkovs rounded out the lineup. Following several rehearsals, Sainthood Reps embarked on tour dates alongside All the Day Holiday, extending their travels through much of 2010. Late that year saw them signing with Tooth & Nail Records, setting the stage for their first full-length effort, Monoculture, which arrived in the summer of 2011.
