Sauce Walka

Known for his combative approach, Houston rapper Sauce Walka delivers lines with an energetic, unpredictable cadence reminiscent of Young Thug. His output includes the Sorry 4 the Sauce series of mixtapes spanning 2015 through 2017, along with vividly animated cuts such as the 2018 track “Sauce Overload.” The third installment of his Sauce Ghetto Gospel series surfaced in 2022. After teaming with Conway the Machine, Juicy J, and Peso Peso on separate songs, he issued the complete album Saucefather 2 in 2024.

Born Albert Walker Mondane, he forms one half of the duo Sauce Twinz alongside Sancho Saucy. Tracks and mixtapes began appearing from him in 2014, and he also surfaced on projects from Slim Thug and DJ Holiday. During 2015 he drew attention by charging Drake with appropriating Houston hip-hop culture, lifting its dance steps, and failing to back the city’s scene; that same year he dropped the opening pair of entries in the Sorry 4 the Sauce series. The artwork for his 2016 mixtape Holy Sauce took aim at Drake plus Famous Dex and Future. He closed the year with Sorry 4 the Sauce 3 and followed it in 2017 with The Sauce Father.

Walka has kept up a steady pace of releases, often issuing several mixtapes annually. Drip God and a pair of Sauce Ghetto Gospel volumes arrived before the decade closed. Sauce Twinz put out Lost in the Sauce in 2020, and Walka joined El Trainn on Sauce Train. The following year he unveiled Birdz Hunt Snakes, Sauce R&B, God of Texas, and Drill Spill. In 2022 came AI Rage Walka, Sauce Beach Florida, and Sauce Ghetto Gospel 3. “Super Bowl,” a 2023 collaboration with Conway the Machine and Juicy J, preceded the single “Dangerous Daringer,” again featuring Conway. Additional 2023 tracks paired Walka with Taylor Ricard, Robbie Diesel, and Peso Peso, while the solo cuts “Only Fans” and “Dat Boy Den” also appeared. The 2024 full-length Saucefather 2 included contributions from Lil Yachty, Rizzoo Rizzoo, Travis Scott, and further guests.
