Biography
Shade Jenifer, an R&B vocalist, songwriter, and producer, secured his initial opportunity through radio rather than the digital avenues favored by most peers emerging in the late 2010s. His submission to a social media-driven airplay contest organized by WPGC, the station in his native Washington, D.C., drew the interest of DJ Young Music. The DJ aired the track and additionally placed Jenifer on the eOne-distributed DYMG label. "Ain't No Problem" appeared as Jenifer's debut single in early 2016. By the close of that April, his self-titled first album arrived, centered on romantic street ballads in the style of Usher and Chris Brown, every one written by Jenifer.
