The Christian ensemble the Gray Havens fuses grounded indie folk textures with opulent pop and rock flourishes and narratives grounded in faith. Active since their 2013 debut, the husband-and-wife duo Dave and Licia Radford has built a following for expansive, emotionally charged songcraft across projects such as Fire and Stone, Ghost of a King, She Waits, and Blue Flower.

Dave and Licia Radford first encountered each other on a mission trip in British Columbia and wed in 2012. While living in Crystal Lake, Illinois, they began tracking material under the Gray Havens name later that same year and issued their initial EP, Where Eyes Don't Go, in early 2013.

After settling in Nashville, the pair enlisted producer Mitch Dane, whose prior credits include JJ Heller and Brandon Heath, to shape their ambitious full-length debut Fire and Stone in 2015. Dramatic arrangements and expansive production on that album were augmented by appearances from Jars of Clay member Stephen Mason and Tyler Somers of the duo Jenny & Tyler.

Ghost of a King, released in 2016, pursued a comparable path and was followed a year later by the live companion Ghost of a King (Live).

The duo launched a sequence of singles in 2018 that included the luminous synth rock ballad "Forever" and the comparatively acoustic "Storehouse," both later collected on the full-length She Waits.

Their fourth long-player, Blue Flower, arrived in 2021 and took its cue from the life of British writer and theologian C.S. Lewis.

The pair presented an intimate collection of audience favorites on the 2022 EP Far Kingdom: Summer Sessions, and in early 2024 they unveiled the heartfelt single "Anywhere" in advance of a forthcoming studio album.
