Hailing from Brighton with roots outside the techno sphere, the British collective known as The Qemists crafts a boundary-crossing electronic rock style that fuses metallic guitar lines with urgent drum'n'bass propulsion, echoing the approach of the Prodigy, Crossfaith, and Enter Shikari. Their raw drive produced a robust, weighty yet floor-friendly aesthetic on the debut full-length Join the Q, which showcased contributions from Faith No More frontman Mike Patton, grime icon Wiley, and further high-profile guests. The same synthesis of vigorous breakbeat dance elements and drum'n'bass rhythms carried forward on 2010's Spirit in the System, highlighted by a collaboration with major influences and tourmates Enter Shikari on "Take It Back." The following year brought Soundsystem, a mix album assembling original material, remixes, and select a cappella renditions of earlier cuts. Silence followed until 2016, when Warrior Sound arrived with appearances from Hacktivist on "Jungle" and Crossfaith vocalist Kenta Koie on "Anger."
