Timbiriche

Producers at the Mexican network Televisa assembled the Latin teen pop ensemble Timbiriche in 1981. Its founding lineup consisted of Diego Schoening, Sasha Diez Barroso, Benny Ibarra, Mariana Garza, Alix Bauer and Paulina Rubio, every one of whom was still under eleven years old when the project began; each participant accepted membership only on the condition that schoolwork remain strong. Working beneath creative director Luis de Llano Macedo and musical director Memo Mendez Guiu, the group issued its self-titled debut LP shortly afterward and went on to deliver more than a dozen additional albums. Departures followed as the original members grew older, while later recruits included Erik Rubin, Lorena Shelley, Eduardo Capetillo, Patricia Tanus, Daniel Gaytan, Alexandra Lozano, Thalia Sodi and Edith Marquez.
