Biography
Twin XL originated in Los Angeles when musicians from the Summer Set and Nekokat joined forces. Their approach fuses energetic indie rock with luminous synth textures and melodic pop choruses reminiscent of the Score and COIN. The group first appeared with the EP How to Talk to Strangers in 2019.
John Gomez and Stephen Gomez, brothers from the Summer Set, crossed paths with Nekokat’s Cameron Walker-Wright at a house party in 2017. The three arranged a later studio session. Already active as outside producers and songwriters, they developed a batch of material with Walker-Wright taking lead vocals, John Gomez playing guitar, and Stephen Gomez on bass. Operating under the name Twin XL, the trio issued their opening singles “Good” and “Sunglasses” in late 2018. Their debut EP, How to Talk to Strangers, arrived on RED MUSIC in the first half of 2019.
