Biography
The Oregon-based sibling trio We Three gained widespread recognition in 2018 after advancing to the semi-finals of NBC's America's Got Talent. Already experienced performers with multiple independent releases behind them, the group capitalized on that exposure by issuing a full-length album before the year ended. Their 2020 follow-up, Dear Paranoia, Sincerely, Me, addressed the stigma surrounding mental health through its central themes.
Guitarist Manny, bassist Bethany, and drummer/keyboardist Joshua Humlie, who spent their childhood in McMinnville, Oregon, absorbed music from their parents and later formed the band We Three. They began performing throughout the region and refined their melodic, heartfelt pop style across independent EPs such as Neverland (2016) and Celebrate the Struggle, Pt. 1 (2017). National visibility arrived during the summer of 2018 when the siblings reached the semi-finals of America's Got Talent in September, performing solely original songs before being eliminated short of the finals. One highlight was the emotional ballad "Heaven's Not Too Far," written in memory of their mother, who had died of cancer in 2015. The exposure led directly to their self-titled debut album in December 2018, on which "Heaven's Not Too Far" emerged as a streaming success. In 2019 they issued the five-song EP We're All Messed Up - But It's Okay, which featured the widely streamed track "Sara." Their second full-length album, Dear Paranoia, Sincerely, Me, arrived in 2020 and continued their practice of confronting challenging topics with an optimistic tone.
