Barrett Baber

Barrett Baber of Marion, Arkansas, entered the ninth season of The Voice already carrying three albums when he aligned with Blake Shelton’s team. The preacher’s son had also lived through a plane crash years earlier as a passenger aboard American Airlines flight 1420, which went down near Little Rock, Arkansas, in June 1999. He assisted other passengers in escaping before exiting the wreckage himself, an experience that permanently altered his outlook. Following his graduation from Ouachita Baptist University, Baber sharpened his soulful country style across Nashville and Memphis, Tennessee, issuing his debut album Fratbar Superstar in 2004. Eight years afterward came the follow-up Colt Square Sessions in 2012, then Battlefield Us in 2013. During 2015 he unveiled his first EP, Falling Again, and competed on The Voice, advancing to the finals and finishing third behind Emily Ann Roberts and champion Jordan Smith.
