Biography
Formed in 2004 in Sarasota, Florida, Burden of a Day issued their first full-length, Pilots and Paper Planes, on the independent imprint Blood & Ink less than two years afterward. The effort drew sharply divided notices for its unremarkable screamocore sound laced with Christian overtones. The five-piece lineup kept rehearsing and logged countless road miles in the years that followed, sharpening both their performances and songcraft along the way. By 2008 vocalist Kendall Knepp, sibling guitarists Josh and Mike Sommers, bassist Terry Clark, and drummer Jesse Histetler secured a fresh agreement with Rise Records and delivered their second album, Blessed Be Our Ever After, which reflected incremental gains.
