Chaz Cardigan, a Nashville-based singer and songwriter working in the alternative pop vein, merges folk, R&B, and pop through lyrics marked by honesty and vulnerability. Kentucky-born in 1995, he picked up guitar, bass, and drums on his own throughout his youth. Rather than attend college, he relocated to Nashville at 17 to pursue music full-time. He participated in the hip-hop collective the Diatribe and handled production for the group as a means of sharpening his studio craft. In 2017 he issued his debut album, I, on his own and launched a schedule of solo performances. His career accelerated sharply in 2020 with simultaneous signings to Capitol and to Loud Robot, a subsidiary of J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot production company. Loud Robot placed him on the soundtrack for the Netflix series To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You. The same year also brought the EP Vulnerabilia, home to the streaming hit “NOT OK!,” and the follow-up EP Holograma.
