Biography
Fronted by Corky Gainsford, the onetime drummer for Otherwise, the Las Vegas alt-rock outfit Code Red Riot blends riff-driven hard rock, sharp melodic hooks, and reflective lyrics. Taking cues from Foo Fighters, Shinedown, and Queens of the Stone Age, the band issued its first release, the full-length Mask, during summer 2018.
After growing weary from years of road work and studio sessions with the Las Vegas hard rock veterans Otherwise, Gainsford began cutting solo demos as Code Red Riot, performing vocals and every instrument himself. An early take of his 2017 song "Living Low" landed on Sirius XM's Octane channel and several terrestrial stations, prompting a strong listener reaction. Offered a contract by Sony Red, Gainsford left his long-standing post with Otherwise, recruited guitarist Tyler Azure, and delivered Code Red Riot's debut album, Mask, in June 2018.
