Biography
Count Me Out emerged from Richmond, VA, during autumn 1997 as hardcore icons whose sound fused vicious straight-edge punk with savage punk-influenced metal. They initially performed under the name What the F*ck before switching to their permanent moniker ahead of a debut gig later that year. Brian McTernan produced their acidic Few and Far Between EP, which surfaced in 1999. The following year Indecision Records issued the full-length 110, which the band supported with an extensive tour. Two years after that came Permanent, an album marked by its moody and brutally honest tone. Once a European tour concluded, the lineup—vocalist Jason Mazzola, guitarists Garth Petrie and Pete Appleby, bassist Charlie Flexon, and drummer Colin Kimble—staged an unannounced final show in Richmond during February 2003. Several members subsequently joined projects such as Renee Heartfelt and Strike Anywhere.
