Biography
Hailing from Orlando, Florida, Exotype fuses djent, metalcore, dubstep, hard rock, and electronica into a menacing, crowd-agitating sound whose high-volume creations sit alongside the work of Tesseract, Korn, Meshuggah, and Skrillex. The ensemble coalesced in 2012 with vocalist Steven McCorry, bassist Gabriel Montalvo, drummer Spencer Franke, and guitarists Rob Walden and Matt Browning, delivering its self-titled debut album—produced by Joey Sturgis and issued on Rise Records—in autumn 2014.
