Internet Money originated as the vision of Florida-born producer Taz Taylor, who initially sustained himself and his cancer-diagnosed mother by peddling beats through online platforms. The operation encompasses a producers’ collective, a record label, and a platform for web-based music tutorials. Its YouTube channel debuted toward the end of 2016, followed in 2019 by the first releases on the identically named imprint, among them the Taylor-and-Nick-Mira-produced “Somebody.” The group’s expansive debut album, B4 the Storm, surfaced in 2020, while the EP We All We Got arrived in 2022 and the single “I Remember,” featuring Roddy Ricch and Kodak Black, emerged in 2023.

After gaining traction, Taylor secured a publishing agreement and earned his earliest placements on 2017 commercial releases such as Desiigner’s “Liife,” Kodak Black’s “My Klik,” and XXXTENTACION’s “Fuck Love.” The last of these was co-crafted with then-up-and-coming teenager Nick Mira; together they soon shaped Juice WRLD’s “Lucid Dreams” and Lil Tecca’s “Ransom,” both of which reached the Billboard Hot 100 top ten. Around the period when “Ransom” gained momentum in 2019, Internet Money’s label arm was formally activated via a Mira-assisted Poorstacy EP. That October the imprint put out “Somebody,” billed to Internet Money with Taylor and Mira handling production and Lil Tecca plus A Boogie Wit da Hoodie as featured voices. In 2020 the collective delivered B4 the Storm, which drew contributions from Future, Lil Tecca, the Kid LAROI, Swae Lee, and additional artists. The April 2021 single “JETSKI” spotlighted Lil Mosey and Lil Tecca, while “Flossin’,” featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again, followed in 2022 before the year closed with the EP We All We Got. The 2023 track “I Remember” again paired the outfit with Roddy Ricch and Kodak Black.
