From an early age, pop singer and songwriter Johnnie Mikel has crisscrossed the United States, presenting upbeat dance tracks shaped by Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and John Mayer. Born in Kentucky in 1997, he relocated to New York City at eleven. The move broadened his outlook and drew him deeper into music, where he mastered guitar and began crafting lyrics. He next settled in Nashville to compose his earliest material and refine his live performance before traveling onward to Los Angeles for recording. His debut single, “Come with Me,” appeared in 2017. Co-written with Lindy Robbins (Jason Derulo, Demi Lovato) and produced by Damon Sharpe (Ariana Grande, Pitbull), the luminous electro-pop cut later surfaced on his first EP, Night of Your Life. After the five-song project, Mikel released the synth-driven single “Friday Night,” subsequently remixed by Dave Aude, Richard Vission, and others.
