Johnny Zazueta and Omar Tarazón, both vocalists and composers native to Sinaloa, established the Mexican regional act Los 2 De La S, a name that directly references their shared state origin. Prior to the partnership each man had already built a solid reputation writing material for fellow performers. Their paths converged after Sergio Lizárraga—one of the genre’s most influential power brokers—overheard the pair harmonizing and persuaded them to unite as a duo.

The 2018 release De Fiesta served as Los 2 De La S’s first full-length project and showcased an eclectic blend that encompassed corrido, rancheras, cumbia, bolero, and introspective ballads. Their commercial ascent occurred two years later when the third album, La Barda Me Volé, reached the summit of multiple Mexican Regional charts and featured a live version of “Somos Los Que Somos” recorded with Lizárraga and his Banda MS.

Zazueta and Tarazón maintained an active schedule of performances and recordings under the Los 2 De La S banner while continuing to supply songs for Lizárraga and additional clients. Streaming metrics reflected their growing audience, surpassing five million monthly listeners by 2023. The duo’s eighth studio effort, Me Brinqué La Fila, arrived the following year.
