Born and raised in Queens, New York, Haitian-American artist Mike Classic, active as a rapper, producer, songwriter, and vocalist, started rhyming at the age of 14. He absorbed the impact of foundational East Coast hip-hop figures to forge a personal approach to the mic while also devoting steady effort to acquiring skills in music production and beat construction. Entering the 2010s, he issued several notable singles, among them "Whole Different Lane," which included guest verses by his acquaintance French Montana. That track appeared on the 2012 mixtape Where Amazing Happens, which carried an additional guest spot by Tolu along with beats from Track4merz. After a stretch of relative inactivity, he reemerged with a series of fresh releases, among them the 2016 cut "Lowkey (On the Low)" and the 2017 standout "Woosah," the latter produced by kAui.
