Biography
R&B/pop vocalist Melvin Moore, also known as Oneinthe4rest, stepped out from behind-the-scenes roles to launch his own performing career while enlisting an array of elite musical partners. Prior to claiming the spotlight himself, he devoted considerable time to songwriting and supplied material for artists including Nicki Minaj, French Montana, Big Sean, and Tyga. As a youth he taught himself piano and guitar, yet it was only after relocating from Kansas to Los Angeles in 2008 that he began actively exploring production and songwriting; there he formed a connection with Grammy award-winning producer Raphael Saadiq, who granted him complimentary studio access and shared essential guidance about the music business. His earliest significant songwriting placement arrived via Trey Songz’s 2011 recording “Unusual.” Subsequent work included contributions to Robin Thicke’s 2013 album Blurred Lines. By 2015 he had established an ongoing collaboration with R&B singer Chris Brown, regularly forwarding creative concepts; two years later, in 2017, Brown reciprocated by featuring on Moore’s debut single “Jiu Jitsu.”
