Stefan James, recognized for his soaring falsetto, first presented his moody, slow-tempo R&B through the Nights Like EP in 2018.
Born in Maryland, he began uploading renditions of songs by Ed Sheeran and John Legend during his teenage years in 2014. The death of his older brother, together with his own ensuing struggles against addiction, shaped the themes of his debut official single "Situation," which appeared via Republic Records in September 2018. November of that year brought the release of the four-track Nights Like.
